60 The CCPL defines the term "licence elements" as the individual "licence attributes listed in the name of a Creative Commons Public Licence". This refers to the modules of the CC licences, each of which contains the specific licence obligations or conditions for the use of the material (BY, SA, NC, ND). In the text of the CCPL agreement, the term "licence elements" only plays a role in the licence variants with the SA – Share Alike condition (i.e. CC BY-SA and CC BY-NC-SA): If a licensee edits content and passes it on, Share Alike requires that a modification licence compatible with the original licence be granted (see Section 1.b and Section 3.b.1 for the Share (see section 1.b and section 3.b.1 for the Share Alike licence variants). This requires that the modification licence in accordance with section 3.b.1 contains the same licence elements as the original licence. Only the licence elements in the combinations BY and SA as well as BY, NC and SA are considered for this purpose. For further information, see section 3.
